The Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety, made a statement regarding the apprehension of Orret O’Neil Brock, listed on the CBSA “Wanted” list for criminality.
“The apprehension of this individual demonstrates our government’s ongoing commitment to protect Canadians and secure the safety of our communities,” said Minister Toews. “We are sending a strong message that Canada is not a haven for those who try to enter or live here illegally, who have broken the law and have endangered the safety of our citizens.
I want to commend the Toronto Police Service for their work in apprehending this individual and thank Canadians for their ongoing support of our efforts to find individuals who are hiding in Canada and committing serious crimes.
The Government of Canada remains committed to identifying, detaining and removing those individuals who pose a threat to the safety and security risk to Canada.”
