Central Plains RCMP are looking for information in connection with a vehicle fire incident that occurred this past August in Portage la Prairie.
On August 25, 2011, at approximately 11:30pm, Central Plains RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a vehicle that had been parked in the back lane of the first block of 1st Street NW in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
Investigation revealed that sometime on August 25, 2011, between 10am and 11:30pm, suspects broke the rear driver’s side window of the 2001 Volkswagen Jetta and stole two speakers and an amp.
Early in the morning of August 26, at approximately 2:32am, Central Plains RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle fire at the same location. Portage Fire Department also responded and extinguished the fire.
Further investigation revealed that the same vehicle, the 2001 Volkswagen Jetta, that had been broken into earlier in the evening, had been burned at the same location.
