Manitoba Conservation advises, due to favourable weather conditions, burning permits will once again be issued in the eastern area of the province north of the Trans-Canada Highway.

No new burning permits will be issued for eastern Manitoba south of the Trans-Canada Highway. Any permits that were issued for that area remain cancelled. Campfires are allowed within enclosed fire pits. For further details, please contact the local Manitoba Conservation office.

In Bissett, firefighting efforts continue with good progress being made. Heavy equipment and fire crews continue work to secure fire lines.

In southeastern Manitoba, fire-fighting operations continue. Manitoba Conservation fire crews continue to use heavy equipment to secure the fire in Sandilands Provincial Forest. Municipal fire crews are still working on other hot spots.
