Tis the season to begin holiday shopping and support two local charities at the same time
Agape House, the regional shelter that supports women and their children in crisis, will host Home for the Holidays on Saturday November 5th from 9am to 6pm at the Brass Lantern Banquet Centre in Steinbach.
Board Vice-President Melissa Perkins tells us “This particular event will showcase homemade, handmade and gift products by artisans, crafters, and giftware carriers from all over the area”. In addition to the vendors, there will also be live music, holiday bites, children’s activities, and a holiday photo shoot where you can have your holiday photos taken right on-site. And if all of this doesn’t get you into the holiday spirit, they will also be drawing free door prizes all day.
Door admission to the event is a donation to Agape House or a ‘Tin for the Bin’ for Southeast Helping Hands. Executive Director Tracie Rigby explains that “Agape House has a very close working relationship with Southeast Helping Hands as we share a lot of the same clients”. “Along with that, Southeast Helping Hands provides our clients with supplies on a regular basis throughout the year, so it was a natural fit for us to include support for them in this event as well” continues Rigby.
“The holiday season is a particularly busy time for both charities and the needs are especially high for families during this period…” indicates Rigby. “So come on out and bring your family for a day of shopping and holiday fun while supporting two important local charities at the same time” encourages Perkins.
