RCMP have seized approximately 728 marijuana plants after searching a residence near Arborg last week.
On October 20, 2011, the RCMP “D” Division (Manitoba) Drug Section in conjunction with the East District Green Team and Integrated Proceeds of Crime Section executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant at a residence in the RM of Bifrost, near Arborg, Manitoba.
During the search of the property investigators discovered approximately 728 marijuana plants, as well as associated grow equipment, in relation to an indoor marijuana grow operation.
The value of the seizure is estimated to be over $700,000.
No arrests have been made at this time and police continue to investigate.

45-year-old Van Nhin La of Winnipeg was located, arrested and charged for theft of electricity, possession for the purpose of trafficking and producing a controlled substance (marihuana) in connection with this investigation. He has been released on a promise to appear and undertaking to appear in Winnipeg Court on December 8, 2011.
