The Manitoba Beef Producers (MBP) calls on all Manitobans to celebrate Manitoba Beef Week.
Today the Hon. Stan Struthers, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural initiatives, signed the proclamation officially declaring October 31 through November 6 as “MANITOBA BEEF WEEK”. The Government’s proclamation notes the significant contributions made by Manitoba’s beef producers and the industries they support.
“Manitoba’s Beef Producers generate wealth enjoyed in every part of the province, from Brandon, Winnipeg and to all of our rural communities,” noted Major Jay Fox, President of the Manitoba Beef Producers. “This week provides all of us an opportunity to pause and reflect on this contribution – and of course to eat some beef!”
“Manitoba Beef Week” culminates with the MBP’s Annual General Meeting, held at Brandon’s Keystone Centre on November 4th and 5th. Once again MBP has partnered with the Provincial Exhibition to put on the “Prime Beef Event”, which includes MBP’s AGM, the Livestock Expo and a joint trade show.
“The “Prime Beef Event” is a showcase of the beef industry in Manitoba. I encourage both beef producers and the general public to take the time to attend and learn more about what “beef” does for Manitoba,” stated Fox.
Fox concluded by stating “MPB’s appreciation for the Government of Manitoba’s proclamation and its efforts to increase awareness of the beef industry’s contribution to Manitoba’s way of life.”
