RCMP have identified a suspicious death victim after the discovery of an adult male body earlier this week on the Sagkeeng FN.
Police say that the victim has been identified as 41-year-old Eugene Robert Fontaine of Sagkeeng FN.
The investigation shows that a social gathering took place at a residence on Sagkeeng FN and an argument ensued.
Two Sagkeeng FN men have been charged with second degree murder in connection with Fontaine’s death. Both 22-year-old Nicholas Abraham and 28-year-old Jonathon Starr remain in custody and will be appearing in Winnipeg court on November 2, 2011. Both of the accused and the victim were known to each other.
An autopsy was conducted in Winnipeg and the cause of death has been attributed to blunt force trauma.
Police say that the matter is not considered gang related.
