A Teulon man has been arrested and faces drug and firearm related charges after RCMP discovered a grow-op in the RM of Gimli earlier this week.
On November 8, 2011, Members of RCMP “D” Division Drug Section assisted by IPOC (Integrated Proceeds of Crime Unit) and Gimli Detachment members executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant at a rural property on Lakeside Road in the RM of Gimli, Manitoba.
Investigators seized 211 marijuana plants, marijuana grow operation equipment and two firearms from an indoor grow-op housed in a partially converted residence.
The street value of the seizure is estimated to be approximately $200,000.
On November 9, 2011, 37-year-old Dwayne Hamaberg of Teulon, Manitoba, was arrested and has been charged with production of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of careless storage of a Firearm and two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
RCMP report that the accused has been remanded in custody.
Police continue to investigate.
