RCMP with the help of the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team and local volunteers are continuing the search for three boaters that were reported missing earlier this week.
As of 2:30pm on November 11, 2011, the 3 boaters had not been found on the Island Lake river. The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team (URT) continue to search in an effort of locating the missing boaters.
The RCMP URT is currently searching a large area of the river where the 3 missing are presumed drown. The water is estimated as 60 feet deep in the area.
RCMP report that the weather at the scene has been cloudy with temperatures reaching -2 degrees Celsius with light winds.
The search continues with help of local volunteers and RCMP.

On November 12, 2011, shortly after 4 pm, Island Lake RCMP Detachment were advised that a local volunteer from St. Theresa Point had found one of the boaters deceased.
The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old Jordan Day of Garden Hill FN. He was found on the Island Lake River in proximity of where the boat got stuck at Pelican Rapids.
The search continues tomorrow with volunteers and RCMP for the remaining two boaters. A young woman and a man are still missing.
