The Northern Nights Hotel in Churchill, Manitoba, was completely destroyed by fire.
On November 18, 2011, at about 10pm, Churchill RCMP Detachment and Local Fire Department responded to a fire at the Northern Nights Hotel in Churchill.
RCMP arrived on scene where black smoke could be observed. All guests had safely exited the structure and were taken to the local complex. Police say that the guests have since been relocated in other hotels.
RCMP report that one person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two nearby apartment complexes were also evacuated as a precaution.
The Hotel is a complete loss and damage estimates are not yet available.
Early investigation suggests the fire is not considered suspicious and the cause remains under investigation.
