On November 19, 2011, at about 1pm, Swan River RCMP, along with the West District Special Operations Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Indian Birch River Reserve. The reserve is located about 60 km north of Swan River, Manitoba.
Investigators discovered approximately 1.5 pounds of marijuana, various drug paraphernalia, firearms and a quantity of cash. Police say that the estimated street value of the seizure is approximately $10,000.
Three adults were arrested at the residence. 47-year-old Daniel Clarence John Audy has been charged with trafficking of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, firearms related offences, as well as breaching conditions of a recognizance. 19-year-old Derek Cody Sutherland was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance. The third adult was released with no charges.
Audy has been remanded into custody and will appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on November 22nd, 2011. Sutherland has been released from custody, with conditions, and is scheduled to appear in Swan River Provincial Court on December 7, 2011.
