RCMP investigators and the Crown Attorney have concluded their investigation into an alleged hazing and assault incident that was reported last month.

On October 6, 2011, a complaint was made to the Neepawa RCMP regarding a hockey hazing incident involving an alleged assault. This was reported to have occurred between September 15 and October 6, 2011.

RCMP investigators conducted an in depth investigation into the alleged incident. The investigation included a lengthy interview process involving players and other witnesses. The results of this investigation were then submitted to the Office of the Crown Attorney for review and consultation.

As a result of the findings of RCMP investigators and the Crown Attorney, no charges will be laid against players or staff of the hockey team in question.

Police say that since a number of persons involved are minors, no further information can be released regarding the details of this investigation to insure the privacy of the complainant.
