RCMP are asking the public for assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a hit and run incident that occurred last month near Portage la Prairie.
On November 5, 2011, just after 7:30pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a report of a hit and run to a vehicle on Provincial Road 240, approximately 1 mile south of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
Investigation revealed that a Kitson’s tow truck had been stopped on the side of the highway preparing to tow a vehicle, when an unknown person drove past at a high rate of speed and hit the driver’s side door of the tow truck.
The driver of the suspect vehicle is described as being, Native in appearance with black hair with a pony tail, approximately 5’7″, 170 lbs with a small round face. The suspect vehicle is described as being an early 2000 purple Trail Blazer. RCMP report that the Blazer would have sustained damage to the passenger side door, as well, the passenger side window was knocked off in the collision.
Police say that no injuries were reported in this incident.
