Niverville native, David Richert, has completed a successful test at Imola in Team Ghinzani’s Formula 3 (F3) race car.
The Silver Jeans Co-sponsored driver was one of a dozen drivers who took to the wet track on a chilly Italian morning to battle the difficult elements. The wet conditions provided a serious challenge but by early afternoon the sun had come out and cars were lapping on a dry track.
After a seat fitting in Team Ghinzani’s race shop close to Milan, and trip to Ferrari’s home town of Maranello, Richert found himself lapping the world famous circuit of Imola in a car that has launched the careers of many talented drivers including Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, and Mika Hakkinen. The prize of a test in a Ferrari Formula 1 car to the Italian F3 Champion will draw some of the best drivers from around the world to compete in 2012.
“It was nice to be back at Imola and I greatly enjoyed my first chance to drive a Formula 3 car. Everything went according to plan so we’ll see what the coming weeks bring and hopefully I will be in a position to compete at a high level full-time in 2012.” – David Richert
