On December 8, 2011 just after 3:30pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a theft from the Salvation Army in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
Investigation revealed that a cart full of grocery and toy items that had been donated to the Salvation Army for Christmas hampers had been stolen.
Police were able to locate the suspect and all the donations were returned to the Salvation Army.
A 40-year-old female resident of Portage la Prairie was arrested for theft under $5,000. She has since has been released and is scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on January 23, 2011.
Police continue to investigate.
