A Long Plain FN resident is facing a number of firearms related charges after Portage la Prairie RCMP seized numerous firearms and weapons earlier this month.
On December 2, 2011, just before 9am, Portage la Prairie RCMP received information about weapons located at a residence in Long Plain FN, Manitoba. Police attended the residence and seized a number of firearms, edged weapons and soft body armour.
A 39-year-old man of Long Plain FN was charged with a number of firearm related offences. He is held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on December 12, 2011.
Police continue to investigate.
