A 17-year-old youth from McCreary is dead after his vehicle rolled into a ditch in the RM of Ste. Rose on Christmas day.
On December 25, 2011, at about 11:15am, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP, along with area Fire and EMS, responded to a vehicle found in the RM of Ste. Rose on Road 89W, north of Laurier. Police say that a male individual was found deceased at the scene.
Early investigation determined that the lone driver of the pick-up truck lost control of the vehicle and rolled into the ditch where the driver was found deceased.
The name of the deceased, identified as a 17-year-old youth from McCreary, is not being released.
The pick-up truck had been reported stolen to the RCMP earlier the same morning from the RM of McCreary.
RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of an RCMP Traffic Analyst.
RCMP report that the seatbelt was not in use at the time of the crash. Alcohol has not been ruled out as a contributing factor to this collision.
