Two Portage la Prairie residents are facing drug, firearms and stolen property charges after a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was executed last week in Portage la Prairie.
On December 23, 2011, just after 8pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP and General Investigation Section executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of Spruce Bay North in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Portage la Prairie Police Dog Section also assisted in the search.
286 grams of marijuana, with has an approximate value of $4,300, was located and seized from the residence. A stolen 12 gauge shotgun was also recovered from the residence.
28-year-old Benjamin Hobson and 30-year-old Julie Mousseau, both of Portage la Prairie, have been charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of stolen property and a number of firearm related offences. Both have been released on a promise to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on February 6, 2012.
Police continue to investigate.
