On December 28, 2011, at 5:30pm, members from Rossburn, Waywayseecappo, Russell and Roblin RCMP Detachments responded to a robbery at the LPK Convenience Store in Rossburn, Manitoba.
Upon entering the store, a lone male brandished a knife, stole a bottle of liquor and fled on foot. An hour later while searching the community, RCMP located a man in a licenced premise in Rossburn matching the suspect’s description. Before being apprehended by police he offered liquor in exchange for a ride out of the community and said he knew police were searching for him. The knife and stolen liquor have not been recovered.
23-year-old Devyn Colton Dale Pratt of Brandon, Manitoba, has been charged with robbery, breach of probation, possessing a weapon for dangerous purposes, carrying a concealed weapon and impersonation after he provided police with false identity. Pratt has been remanded in custody pending a first appearance in Brandon Provincial Court.
Prairie Mountain RCMP were assisted in the investigation by the Dauphin RCMP Police Dog service, Dauphin RCMP Forensic Identification unit and Brandon RCMP Major Crime unit.
