An arrest has been made in a stabbing incident that occurred last November at a house party in Shamattawa.
On November 27, 2011 just after 3am, RCMP officers were dispatched to a house party where a stabbing had allegedly occurred. Upon attending the dispatch, the victim was found unresponsive on a roadway nearby. He was transported to the Shamattawa Nursing Station where he was pronounced deceased shortly after.
The victim was identified as 34-year-old Charles Robertson Beardy of Shamattawa.
On November 28, 2011, an autopsy was conducted in Winnipeg and the cause of death was attributed to a stab wound.
RCMP report that on January 6, 2012, a 17-year-old male from Shamattawa was arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with this investigation.
The accused remains in custody pending a court appearance in Winnipeg.
