RCMP Investigators are currently investigating a number of break-ins to rural mailboxes in the province.

Over the past few months, a number of rural mailboxes, as well as at least one post office in a rural community, have experienced break-ins and thefts.

In addition to the theft of mail, there has been significant damage to the mailboxes themselves.

RCMP are asking that persons with rural mailboxes check them regularly for mail and report any damage or suspicious activity to police immediately.

If you have any information regarding these thefts, please contact your local police agency. You can also call Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS), SUBMIT a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or TEXT: TIPMAN plus your message to CRIMES (274637).
