A substantial amount of liquor has been seized by RCMP in connection with a number of recent rural break and enters.
On January 26, 2012, Portage la Prairie RCMP made an arrest in relation to a number of break and enters to businesses within several rural communities. Initial investigation revealed that suspects stole a vehicle and used it to commit break and enters in the towns of MacGregor, Austin and Gladstone, Manitoba.
Police say that a substantial amount of liquor was stolen during the break and enters. The vehicle and a large amount of the liquor has since been recovered.
RCMP report that a 26-year-old male resident of Long Plain First Nation, Manitoba, has been arrested and charges are pending.
Portage la Prairie RCMP, Portage la Prairie General Investigation Section, Winnipeg Major Crime Unit and Neepawa RCMP continue to investigate.
