Central Plains RCMP are asking for public assistance in locating two suspects involved in a robbery that occurred this past December in Dakota Plain FN.
On December 30, 2011, just after 8pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a robbery at Sioux Plains Bar in Dakota Plain First Nation, Manitoba. Portage la Prairie Police Dog Service and Treherne RCMP attended with Portage la Prairie RCMP and assisted in the investigation.
Investigation revealed that two males entered the Bar, one of which was brandishing a firearm, and demanded the staff member give them the money from the cash register. Once obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspects fled from the building. No injuries were reported.
The suspects were both described as being male and Aboriginal in appearance. One male was described as being approximately 19-years-old with straight, collar length black hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 5’6′ tall and approximately 150 pounds. The second male was described as being approximately 23-years-old with curly, collar length black hair and dark eyes. He is approximately 5’10’ tall, 180 pounds and has a round face, dark complexion and a scar on his right cheek.
The suspects made off in a tan coloured Pontiac Montana van. Police were unable to locate the suspects.
Portage la Prairie RCMP continue to investigate.
