Around 1:30pm this past Saturday, officers from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP detachment were called to a Dauphin grocery store as staff members had apprehended a female for shoplifting.
Officers attended and arrested the woman whom they learned was also on probation. A second suspect had left the store prior to the officer’s arrival.
26-year-old Samantha Jessica Chartrand of Dauphin, has been charged with theft and breach of probation and has been remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin Court today.
Investigators have identified the second suspect, however, charges against them have not yet been laid.
The investigation continues.
