On February 29, 2012, just before 4pm, Selkirk RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to a rollover collision on Highway 9, approximately two miles south of Manitoba Avenue.
Initial investigation indicates that a northbound semi-trailer hauling a load of excavated soil swerved to avoid a vehicle entering the roadway and subsequently tipped, spilling the load of dirt and blocking the highway.
Highway 9 was closed for about two hours to facilitate clean-up and remove the damaged semi-trailer.
Police say that the driver of the semi sustained very minor injuries in the rollover.
Police continue to investigate.
