Manitoba has opened a bilingual service centre for information on provincial and community services in the town of Ste. Anne in partnership with the South Eastman Regional Health Authority (RHA). This announcement was made by Premier Greg Selinger.
“Manitoba continues to make it easier to get access to business and community information in both official languages,” said Selinger. “Whether it’s an urban or a rural setting, we want people to have easy access to government information in French and English.”
The site will be co-located with the town office in partnership with the RHA and will provide single window access and referrals to a wide array of business and employment information, and services including:
• permits and licences;
• birth, marriage and death certificate applications;
• financial programs and employment opportunities;
• employee recruitment and training tools;
• health and child-care options;
• public access to computers; and
• provincial park information.
“South Eastman Health/Santé Sud-Est is pleased to partner with the community and the Francophone Affairs Secretariat to include health services in this new bilingual service centre,” said Guy Lévesque, board chair of South Eastman Health. “This is a well-designed, practical centre that gives the community access to a wide range of important services including health services in English and in French.”
The premier noted the Ste. Anne centre officially opened today builds on previously established bilingual service centres in several communities including St. Boniface, St. Vital, St-Pierre-Jolys and Notre Dame de Lourdes.
