On March 15, 2009 at around 1:55am RCMP Selkirk conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the City of Selkirk that was operating with an altered licence plate validation sticker.

During the traffic stop RCMP discovered that a woman passenger was wanted on a arrest warrant for failing to attend court as a result of outstanding charges of uttering forged documents x4. Subsequent to the arrest, RCMP found the woman to be in possession of over 6 grams of powered cocaine and 20 rocks of crack cocaine.

32-year-old Selkirk resident Lori Jean Thorsteinson has been charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. Thorsteinson is scheduled to appear in Selkirk Provincial Court on April 24, 2009.

The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old woman also of Selkirk was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for using an altered validation sticker.
