A Selkirk woman is facing drug related charges after RCMP seized of a quantity of drugs and cash at a local residence this past week.
On March 30, 2012, at about 8:30pm, investigators from the Selkirk RCMP General Investigation Section and Selkirk RCMP Detachment, with the assistance of the Portage la Prairie RCMP Police Dog Service, executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant at an apartment in Selkirk, Manitoba.
Information obtained during the search led to the seizure of a quantity of drugs and cash at a second residence, also in Selkirk.
During the investigation, police seized a quantity of cocaine, prescription medication including Oxycontin, several thousand dollars in Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia.
RCMP report that 29-year-old Connie Amanda Winkler of Selkirk was arrested and has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, as well as possession of the proceeds of crime.
Winkler has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Selkirk Provincial Court on June 1, 2012.
