On April 12, 2012, shortly after 4pm, Selkirk RCMP members were dispatched south of Beaconia Beach in the RM of St. Clements, where a male body had been found by a civilian.

RCMP report that the civilian had been out beachcombing on the shore of Lake Winnipeg when the body was located. RCMP members attended the location using ATVs.

Subsequent investigation and an autopsy conducted on April 13 identified the deceased as a 22-year-old male from Winnipeg.

The deceased had been reported missing to police last fall. Police say that foul play is not suspected.
