On March 20th, 2009, Norway House RCMP members seized approximately 1.5 pounds of marijuana and 125 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine.
This seizure was significant because it represents approximately 1,300 individual dose units which would have been sold in the community of Norway House. Norway House has a population of approximately 6,500 people.
Two vehicle occupants have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine and marijuana during a Check Stop that was being conducted.
Ellyss Packo, nineteen years of age, of Norway House and Orville Crane, nineteen years of age, also from Norway House will make their first appearance in Provincial Court on March 24th, 2009, in Thompson, Manitoba.
