Four Steinbach area males are facing drug related charges after Steinbach RCMP discovered a quantity of marijuana at a local residence earlier this week.
On April 25, 2012, at approximately 12:15pm, Steinbach RCMP attended a Steinbach residence to execute a warrant to arrest. While at the residence police noted a strong smell of marijuana. Further investigation located approximately 50 grams of marijuana packaged in a manner consistent with trafficking.
Two adult males, Shaun Sass and Trenton Sass, of Steinbach and area, have been charged with one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, as well as failing to comply under the criminal code. They were both remanded into custody and will appear at Winnipeg Provincial Court.
Two 16-year-old male youths from Steinbach and area have also been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, as well as failing to comply under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. One youth was remanded to the Manitoba Youth Centre in Winnipeg while the other one was released from custody.
