A Cote First Nation man has been arrested and is facing multiple charges after being arrested in a residential break and enter incident earlier this week.
On April 29, 2012, at 2:30pm, Roblin RCMP were dispatched to a residence where there was a break and enter currently in progress. Information that police received indicated that an adult female and her infant were at the residence and a male was breaking in.
Police say that the first member to arrive on scene was assaulted by the male suspect, who punched, bit, choked and then attempted to disarm the the police officer. The RCMP member was able to gain physical control of the suspect and place him under arrest.
The officer was treated in hospital for his injuries.
RCMP report that the accused, a 29-year-old man from Cote FN has been charged with a number of offences including aggravated assault on a peace officer, disarming a peace officer and break and enter.
The investigation continues.
