On May 3, 2012, at about 3pm, Ashern RCMP executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substance Act) search warrant at a single family residence in Ashern, Manitoba.
RCMP investigators located 83 marijuana plants in an indoor marijuana grow operation, as well as growing equipment and drug paraphernalia. Police say that the estimated street value of the seizure is approximately $83,000.
A 51-year-old man from Ashern has been arrested and is facing charges of production of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Ashern Provincial Court on July 18, 2012.
Police continue to investigate.
