Steinbach “Summer in the City” festival tickets for the Prudential Main Stage evening shows are now available at local ticket outlet locations.
The Summer in the City Festival committee is happy to provide concert-goers with another option to purchase tickets for this June’s evening headlining shows. Starting May 7 in the morning, tickets can be purchased at Earls Meat Market and MTS Connect in Steinbach. Both are returning partners to the Festival. New for 2012, Steinbach Safeway will also have tickets available. According to Summer in the City Festival Chair, Keith Unger, this is a good thing “It was important that we find a location that has extended business hours. We really want this festival to be for the people and as Steinbach and the surrounding communities continue to grow, the festival will have to remain agile to meet their needs.”
Tickets have been on sale for Friday night Country headliners DOC Walker since just before Christmas. Burton Cummings and Band, who will headline on Saturday, have quickly become fan favorites – already selling many tickets online. Tickets for the DOC Walker show are $25 rush and $50 VIP, Burton Cummings tickets are priced at only $40 each or $65 for VIP. Rush ticket holders are reminded to bring lawn chairs or sit in the bleachers. VIP tickets are located in a section near the stage with pre-set chairs. Full performer line-ups will be released in the coming weeks.
Volunteers are still needed for the June 15/16 weekend. As the Summer in the City Festival continues to grow, so does the demand for community-minded volunteers. Interested groups or individuals can contact volunteer co-coordinator Rita Winter. The Summer in the City Festival Committee also recognizes that this event could not have become such a success without the confidence and support of local businesses. Each of the sponsors contributes in a unique way, helping to meet the needs of a 2-day festival for Steinbach and the surrounding communities. With the help of these partners the Festival has been able to grow each year, adding a second night headliner, Show ‘n Shine, children’s area and new for 2012 will be an Artist Courtyard and Cultural displays.
