On May 29, 2012, shortly after 8:15pm, Ashern RCMP Detachment and EMS responded to a single vehicle rollover on the main road, a few kilometres south of Highway 68 at Lake Manitoba FN.
The lone occupant of the vehicle, identified as a 30-year-old female of Lake Manitoba FN, was found ejected from the vehicle with serious injuries. She was taken to Ashern Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Police say that her name will not be released.
Ashern RCMP officers along with an RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist continue to investigate what caused the collision to occur. Road conditions and visibility were good at the time of the collision. Seatbelt was not in use at the time of the collision.
