On June 2, 2012, at about 6:30am, Flin Flon RCMP Detachment, the Sherridon Fire Department and Officers from the Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship responded to a fire at an abandoned building known as the Cambrian Hotel.
Upon arrival, officers found the structure fully engulfed in flames. Police say that no one was in the structure at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Estimates of damages are not available but the building is considered a total loss.
RCMP are investigating assisted by the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner. The cause remains under investigation however, the fire is considered suspicious.
