Parkland Area RCMP, with the assistance of the RCMP Criminal Crash Investigation Team, have charged a 17-year-old male from Dauphin in relation to a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on the evening of June 4 in the Riding Mountain National Park.
Police say that a youth has been charged with one count of impaired driving causing death, two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm, one count of refusing a blood demand involving death, two counts of refusing a blood demand involving bodily harm, one count of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm. The youth was also charged with being a novice driver with alcohol in his body under the Highway Traffic Act and with consuming liquor under 18 years of age under the Liquor Control Act.
RCMP report that the male youth was released on a promise to appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on July 25, 2012.
