RCMP have responded to and are investigating a fatal two vehicle collision that occurred this morning on the Trans Canada Highway, about one mile east of Highway 206.
Initial investigation indicates that a 2004 Ford Explorer was in a rear-end collision with a 1983 Chevrolet Blazer.
Police say that the driver of both vehicles were transported to hospital and that there were no passengers or other vehicles involved.
RCMP report that one driver, an adult male, identified as a 22-year-old man from the RM of Ste. Anne, was pronounced deceased at hospital. The other adult male driver, a 26-year-old man from the RM of Ste. Anne, suffered non life threatening injuries and is facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst is assisting with the investigation.
