At about 5:30am, on June 10, 2012, Swan River RCMP received a complaint of a 1991 Chevrolet pick-up stolen from a local business parking lot in Swan River. At 7:05am, with the public’s assistance, the truck was located in a ditch west of Swan River on Provincial Road 275. The truck was found on its side, partially submerged in water.

RCMP report that a short time later, an 18-year-old female from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, was located at a residence in Swan River uninjured. The subsequent investigation led police to arrest the female for theft under $5,000. She has since been released on a promise to appear.

Police say that formal charges have yet to be laid, however, the accused is scheduled to make her first appearance in Swan River Provincial Court on August 1, 2012. Alcohol is a believed to have been a contributing factor in the collision.

The investigation continues.
