RCMP have arrested three youth in connection with an arson incident that occurred in April 2012 in the City of Selkirk.
On April 28, 2012, shortly after 5:30pm, Selkirk RCMP along with multiple fire agencies, were called to Railway Street in the City of Selkirk in response to a fire at the Mandak Metal Processors yard.
On May 1, the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner advised that the fire was an arson.
An RCMP investigation, lead by the Selkirk RCMP Detachment, resulted in the arrest of three Selkirk male youth, two being 15 years of age and one 16. Each of the youth have been charged with one count of arson and one count of mischief over $5,000 in connection with the fire. Damage estimates are still being compiled for this incident.
All three youth were released to their parents on a promise to appear with an undertaking with conditions to attend court in Selkirk on July 20, 2012.
