This Sunday, June 24th at 2:00 p.m., there will be a sod turning ceremony for the Four Winds Project in Steinbach, a ministry of Southland Church for people with life-controlling behaviors.
The First Phase of the this special project will be a two-level dorm that will house 22 women and 22 men, each on separate floors with their own access and common areas. Common areas will encourage healthy community and build important life skills. The building will also have a family home attached for house parents as well as a supervisor on each floor.
The goal of Four Winds Housing Project is to facilitate growth in the foundations of healthy thinking and behaviour by meeting basic needs for:
• Food and shelter
• Healthy emotional attachment to others and a sense of belonging
• Receiving unconditional love.
• Learning how to live and function in community life by understanding and applying healthy boundaries
Southland Church welcomes the community to the sod turning event. Parking is available at the Southland Church and there will be clear signs to the site, a 5 minute walk from the church.
