Ken Plett was voted in yesterday as a new member for the L.U.D of Mitchell, Manitoba, after a low turnout at the polling station.
On June 20, 2012, a by-election was held for the Local Urban District (L.U.D.) of Mitchell, Manitoba. Of the 1,200 total eligible voters, only 39 took the time to cast their ballots at the polling station set up at the Mitchell Senior Centre. There were only two names on the ballot, Tyler Vogt and Ken Plett. Tyler Vogt received 7 votes with Ken Plett receiving the balance of 32 votes.
Plett replaces previous L.U.D. member Ed Esau, who resigned earlier this year. The L.U.D. of Mitchell is one of three in the Rural Municipality of Hanover.
