On June 24, 2012, shortly after 3am, Central Plains RCMP and local area EMS were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover on PR 342, one mile south of the Cypress River in the RM of Victoria.
Initial investigation indicates that the driver of the vehicle lost control on the gravel road and rolled.
RCMP report that the 22-year-old male driver was transported to the Glenboro Hospital and then taken by air ambulance to Winnipeg with serious injuries. A 22-year-old female passenger from Cypress River was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 46-year-old female was transported to Brandon Regional Health Centre with serious injuries and a 21-year-old male and 25-year-old female were both transported to Glenboro Hospital where they received treatment for their injuries.
The RCMP Criminal Crash Investigation Team with local detachment members continue to investigate. A RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
Police say that alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident.
