A Split Lake woman is facing numerous charges after being arrested by police in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred this past week in Thompson.
On June 23, 2012, at around 5:30pm, Thompson RCMP responded to a report of two women fighting in front of the Liquor Mart in Thompson.
RCMP attended and located one of the females suffering from a stab wound. The victim, a 31-year-old resident of Shamattawa, was transported to the Thompson General Hospital where she was treated and released the following day.
44-year-old Margaret Anne Beardy of Split Lake, Manitoba, was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with aggravated assault, possessing a weapon dangerous to public peace, carrying a concealed weapon and theft under $5,000. Beardy has been remanded into custody for a court appearance in Thompson.
