Dillyn Friesen, from the RM of Springfield, is facing manslaughter charges after being arrested by police in connection with the assault and death of a Tache man.
On July 7, 2012, at approximately 11:45pm, St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP responded to a report of an assault which had occurred outside a residence in the RM of Tache.
RCMP along with EMS attended and located an injured male, who has been identified as 58-year-old Lothar Krieg of the RM of Tache. Krieg was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to Winnipeg where he later died as a result of his injuries.
RCMP initially charged 20-year-old Dillyn Carl Nodwell Friesen, of the RM of Springfield, with aggravated assault. The charge has now been upgraded to manslaughter. Friesen is scheduled to make his next court appearance on July 12, 2012, at 9:30 am in Winnipeg.
Police continue to investigate.
