On July 27, 2012, at 4:30am, Turtle Mountain RCMP were dispatched to the scene of a multiple RV camper trailer fire at the seasonal lot in the AG Society Campground in Killarney, Manitoba.
Police say that the fire had started in a 5th wheel camper trailer unit and spread to the two units beside it. The fire completely destroyed the 3 campers, while another trailer received damage to the west side.
RCMP report that three of the camper trailer units were empty and the owners of the 4th one were able to get out before their camper trailer was lost in the fire. No persons or animals were injured in the fire.
The Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner attended the scene and determined that the cause of the fire was due to an over-heated laptop plugged into an extension cord. Damage estimates are not available, however, the trailers are a total loss.
