Norway House RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance with information to identify a male suspect involved in the abduction and sexual assault of an 8-year-old Winnipeg girl in the community of Norway House.
RCMP report that on August 2, 2012, at about 5pm, a young girl was playing by the road in the Rossville area of Norway House when she was picked up. The girl was then driven to a secluded area on the Fort Island area of Norway House where she was sexually assaulted. After the abduction, about an hour later, the suspect dropped her off at a relative’s residence and the police was contacted.
Police have obtained a sketch of the suspect. The suspect was described as aboriginal in appearance, thin with long hair and pocked mark face.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dirty dark coloured pick-up truck.
Norway House RCMP are seeking the public’s help in the identification of this suspect and the vehicle he was operating.
