A Dauphin man, involved in a single vehicle motorcycle accident this past week in Dauphin Beach, has died.
RCMP report that shortly after 11pm, on August 10, 2012, officers from the Dauphin RCMP detachment along with Parkland EMS and the Ochre River Fire Department were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision on PTH 20 at Dauphin Beach. Dauphin Beach is in the Rural Municipality of Ochre River approximately 12 km east of Dauphin.
Upon arrival at the scene, investigators found a motorcycle and its rider in the north ditch. The male operator was taken to hospital. Police say that he was wearing a helmet and has been identified as a 44-year-old man from Dauphin.
Early Tuesday morning, August 14, 2012, the man succumbed to his injuries. Police say that the driver was the lone occupant of the motorcycle at the time of the collision.
The investigation continues and the cause of the collision has not yet been determined.
