On August 20, 2012, just after 9pm, Central Plains RCMP, as well as Portage la Prairie EMS responded to a single vehicle rollover on Yellowquill Trail South in Long Plain FN.
The D Division Criminal Crash Investigation Team along with the Brandon RCMP Traffic Analyst attended and assisted in the investigation.
Investigation revealed that while traveling north on Yellowquill Trail South, a 2002 Chevrolet Venture van lost control and rolled into the ditch. The driver, a 39-year-old female from Long Plain FN, was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the rollover. Police say that she has been transported to Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, with what has been reported to be undetermined injuries.
RCMP report that the driver had not been wearing her seatbelt. Alcohol and speed are believed to have been a factor in the collision.
Police continue to investigate.
