On August 29, 2012, an RCMP investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant by Gods Lake Narrows officers at a local residence.
RCMP report that the search resulted in the seizure of 85 flaps of cocaine. The cocaine has an estimated street value of $4,500. Police say that $80 in cash was also seized.
Two women have been charged in this incident. Both 24-year-old Stephanie Paton of Winnipeg and 30-year-old Melissa Okemow of Gods Lake Narrows, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Stephanie Paton was remanded into custody to appear in Thompson Court on September 4, 2012. Melissa Okemow was released on her own recognizance to appear in Gods Lake Narrows Court on October 24, 2012.
